Jamie Oehlers – Tenor saxophone
Tom O’Halloran – Hammond organ

Perth born saxophonists Brandon Allen and Jamie Oehlers will present a programme of music paying homage to the great tenor pairings in jazz.
There has always been a strong tradition of the “tenor battle”, stemming from the big band era.
For this special concert at the Ellington, the two tenor men will team up with virtuoso Tom O’Halloran on Hammond organ and the explosive Ben Vanderwal on drums.
The evening will feature music recorded by Johnny Griffin/ Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, Gene Ammons/ Sonny Stitt, Dexter Gordon/ Wardell Gray, John Gilmore/ Clifford Jordan, Joe Lovano/ Joshua Redman and much more.
Jamie joined Brandon for a series of concerts at the world famous Ronnie Scott’s in London a couple of years back. There was a great chemistry between the two players.
This rare performance is one not to be missed!
Since relocating to London in 2000, Brandon Allen has performed all over the world with varied artists such as Kyle Eastwood, Stefano Di Battista, Stan Tracey, Paloma Faith, Eric Clapton, The Blockheads, Neil Diamond, US3 and others.
Jamie Oehlers is a multi award winning saxophonist and composer. He regularly performs at jazz clubs and festivals across the globe and in recent years has played with the likes of Reuben Rogers, Eric Harland, Paul Grabowsky and Aaron Goldberg.
