Simone Craddock (London) - Great British Songbook
Tuesday 20 August 7.00pm
WA-born Londoner, Simone Craddock, has made a splash on the British jazz scene with her unique song stylings and irrepressible sense of humour. From Ronnie Scotts in Soho, to leading roles in the West End, Simone’s dual career in Music and Theatre has taken her across the UK, Europe, Asia and The States, for the last twenty years.
Tonight, she joins forces with award-winning jazz luminaries, to bring the best of British jazz, blues and groove home to Perth. Classic hits are dramatically spun into the jazz canon from Queen, Kate Bush, George Michael & The Kinks, to Radiohead, Amy Winehouse and David Bowie. Whilst traditional jazz & blues standards, at times imbibed by flavours of the Caribbean, or deepest Africa, from the likes of George Shearing, Johnny Dankworth, Charlie Chaplin, Noel Coward and Vera Lynn will be lovingly re-imagined. British nostalgia made new, seasoned with Simone’s signature storytelling, and augmented by originals inspired by her time in the UK.
