RISK Jam Session - The Ellington 10th Birthday Celebration

Saturday 02 March 11.00pm

Hosted by Ben Falle and his improvisation group, this jam session is focused on musical openness, experimentation, and taking risks! RISK Jam Session is open to musicians, and vocalists interested and passionate about improvisation and the many genres that improvisation is prevalent in, such as; jazz, improvised beats/grooves, soundscapes, free improvisation, and spontaneous songwriting. Expect to hear songs you know performed in unique new ways, devised right before your eyes and ears, poetry with improvised musical accompaniment, and more new music you have never heard before! Come be a part of this unique show, either as an audience member, or up on stage jamming with some of Perth’s finest musicians!

Music from 11:30pm! Musicians welcome!

It’s The Ellington Jazz Club’s 10th Birthday! On this very weekend in 2009, we opened our doors for the first time, and we’ve been filling the venue and the city with beautiful music ever since. We’ve put together a weekend showcasing Perth’s most revered jazz performers in honour of this momentous occasion, and of course, in honour of the late, great Graham Wood, the club’s co-founder.
