R.W. Grace (Grace Woodroofe)

Friday 28 December 7.00pm

R.W. Grace possesses the ability to convey both great power and gentle fragility on stage. She shyly giggles between songs, before exuding incendiary energy as she whips her hair and guitar wildly. To witness is a captivating contradiction.
Her lyrics are intensely personal and introspective, despite the fact that she cites her biggest challenge as holding too much inside. Adamant about communicating emotion, her voice resonates with deep tones and gripping intimacy. Whether performing solo, or with band, an R.W. Grace show is never anything short of transcendent. She’s a truly mesmerising performer who pours herself into every show as if it’s her last. Which means, given the deeply personal subject matter of songs, every performance packs a hefty emotional punch.
During her career, she has opened for artists such as Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Cat Power, Alt-J and Matt Corby.
After some time away from the road, Grace thought the Ellington, in her hometown of Perth, would be the perfect place to return to the stage. Don’t miss this special performance.
Band: Grace Woodroofe, Kyna Ho, Benjamin Witt, Chris Travaglini, Jackson Venables and Ben Falle.
