Quiet Country Album Launch

Monday 13 September 7.00pm

Tonight Quiet Country are proud to present their self-titled, debut album. Paying homage to the great Country, Americana and Gospel artists, the album features original works while reinterpreting classics such as Heart of Gold, and Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain, in an intimate trio of piano, guitar and drums/percussion. The project is a collaboration between long-time bandmates and prominent Australian jazz artists Harry Mitchell (piano), Ben Vanderwal (Drums) and Harry Winton (Guitar). Don’t miss this chance to see a modern, sensitive and engaging take on jazz influenced country music.

Harry Mitchell is one of these luminary artists who can’t help making their presence felt. He’s been doing exactly that, since he started playing jazz piano (at 13), getting the chance to perform with the ‘who-is-who’ of Australian Jazz, not to mention icons such as Hank Marvin and a certain drummer called Charlie Watts. In the meantime, he has been evolving as a composer, creating music that bursts with energy and fervor.
