Zac Hurren - Appian Way (QLD) - Perth International Jazz Festival

A Jazz graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, Zac Hurren is a magnificent saxophonist who has performed with many Oz legends including Dale Barlow, Bernie McGann, Paul Grabowsky, John Hoffman, Katie Noonan and Sam Anning to name just a few.

In 2009 Zac won the National Jazz Award and in 2012 was a Freedman Fellowship finalist. A truly unique and distinctly Australian saxophonist, composer and improviser, Zac plays with a strength and passion steeped in the jazz heritage of John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Steve Coleman and Archie Shepp.

He is renowned for his ARIA award winning inspiring work with Elixir and his robust playing on the highly acclaimed debut album Exordium featuring his adventurous original work.

Make the most of you festival weekend and take advantage of our State Theatre Centre Weekend Pass at $200, giving you access to 23 shows, in two close venues, over three days. Day passes are also available for Friday ($60)Saturday ($100) and Sunday ($100). Pass only valid at State Theatre Centre performances. Please note all Perth International Jazz Festival performances at Ellington Jazz ClubThe Bird and Downstairs at The Maj are sold separately. 

Pass holders will need to arrive at least 15mins before the performance to ensure their seat. 15mins before each show, tickets will become available for single ticket buyers. The pass does not guarantee entry to sold out performances or for late arrivals.

Table restricted view refers to a few table places which have sight line issues across the grand piano, but allow seated table entry.
