PIJF Jazz Jam: led by Er@ser Description (Adelaide)
Saturday 06 November 10.30pm
All jazz musicians in Perth are invited down to The Ellington to jump on stage and have a jam, as has been the tradition since the Perth International Jazz Festival began. We encourage you to come on down and enjoy yourself!
Musicians bringing in their instrument (or vocalists coming to sing) enter free of charge. If purchasing a free Jam Musician Ticket, please ensure you bring your instrument or indicate that you are a vocalist coming to jam for our door person to check.
All other guests $20 at the door. If you are not coming to jam and just coming to watch, please do support us and our musicians by purchasing a ticket.
Tonight’s jam session will be led by Er@ser Description.
Er@ser Description hit the Adelaide scene in the middle of 2016 through the National Campus Band Competition, with their plentiful array of synths, and deep and groovy beats. Winning the South Australian final of the comp in August 2016, they have gained a following that is growing fast. In a unique style blending jazz, fusion, pop and soul, the end result is an exhilarating live performance that will capture you right from the first beat, and have you grooving until the last.
Made up of 2 keyboard players and a drummer, all professionally trained, they deliver a technically virtuosic set, while never letting the groove out of their sight. Influenced by bands such as Dirty Loops and Snarky Puppy, Er@ser Description gives fresh funky makeovers to top 40 hits, and performs their own originals inspired by their jazz and fusion upbringing. Their contagious on stage energy, paired with the iconic sunnies, gives a light-hearted attitude to their performance, where the players have as much of a party as the audience does.
Having supported Ocean Alley at Jive bar in Adelaide, working with 2 time Grammy award winning bass player Michael League, performing with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Kate Ceberano, and Nathaniel Willemse, Er@ser Description are turning heads in the music scene and are working hard to continuously up their game for every show.
