Heavily inspired by the likes of Wayne Krantz, Oz Noy and John Scofield, Meares Travaglini Powell (MTP Trio) focus on capturing emergent ideas birthed through improvisation and group conversation. The focal point of Meares’s Honours Research at WAAPA, this trio aims to imitate composition in the moment, blending multiple genres together to create material. Hold on to your hats, it’s going to get loud.
