Marissa Burgess is an internationally renowned singer, dancer and producer with a long list of credits to her name. From her original beginnings training in dance as a child at the Newcastle studio of Tessa Maunder OAM through to the accolades earned at the Moulin Rouge in Paris and beyond, her experience and expertise is recommended by many in the industry as being incomparable.

From her first foray into the entertainment industry at Launceston aged 16 her talent was quickly recognized by the management of the Moulin Rouge, where she rose to a starring role within three years earning many accolades as a dancer with natural stage presence. There she rubbed shoulders with internationally renowned entertainers, politicians, royalty, artists, along with many other high profile personalities. It was because of her level head and common sense combined with an innate ability to project a joi de vivre she became the subject of a number of French TV talk shows and US Documentaries not to mention one or two Australian and New Zealand articles.

Her ability to multi-task was clearly illustrated when she was asked to model for top European Fashion Houses alongside living fashion icons such as Naomi Campbell, Tatiana Patitz and many others of that ilk the highlight being the major fashion event at the Eiffel Tower in front of 100 000 spectators.

The turning point came however when Marissa was asked to fill the shoes of La Toya Jackson, with top billing as main attraction. This role she filled with aplomb, a stylewhich was hard to follow when after 18 years, Marissa made the decision to leave the Moulin Rouge where she had proficiently learnt her craft to move home to Australia with her husband Ben Hur Nicolodi, himself an internationally renowned performer.

Settled in Australia, it was time to look to the future and together, they built a production company recognized internationally as being one of substance. International contracts are regularly offered and negotiated, each one selected on their merits, music, choreography, venue all considered in the decision making process.

Each dancer is mentored and trained under Marissa’s expert eye, her expectations of a high standard of performance and work ethic is a non negotiable part of the girls’ contract. Marissa’s expectations also extend to herself, her credos being she leads by example.

Out front, she sings, dances, moves with a grace which one would expect of a classically trained artist, all the while with an innate and feminine sensuality, enigmatic and attractive. With a smile that lights up rooms and fills hearts she glides and moves about the stage with an ease many would envy.

Taking the audience with her as she leads them down the path of a story told in song, the stage is her true home. Her depth of knowledge in stage craft is evident, lighting, costumes, choreography all hard to fault.

Large Production Company’s have been known to call on Marissa to trouble shoot floundering shows, she is respected in the world of performance as an artist with a passion to promote and exemplify quality in the world of entertainment.

Never has Marissa allowed the heady heights of success to overcome the very real person who is proud to be Australian, loving her home, her husband and family.
