Jessie Gordon Quintet

Sunday 25 October 6.00pm

Jessie is a very sun-shy Perth red-headed jazz singer who enjoys swing music, dancing in her kitchen to Otis Redding, eating cheese at any given opportunity and singing in the shower and every other (shaded) venue. Her main musical passion is jazz, blues and roots music.
Jessie started singing professionally at the age of 15 and has fronted big bands, jazz duos and every sized band in-between. She has toured Australia, South East Asia, Germany, France, Spain and Poland. She is also a 20 time Fringe World Music and Cabaret Award winner.
Jessie has five CDs to her name, including a 2018 release of her own original music titled A Work of Friction and a 2019 release with Mark Turner titled Best Friends.
She is joined by her quintet, featuring Michael Perkins on drums, Karl Florisson on bass, Jon Matthews on guitar and Mark Turner on sax, guitar and vocals. This evening at the Ellington will be a mix of jazz standards, saucy singalongs and original music.
