Jessica Fiocco Sextet presented by the Perth Jazz Society

Jessica Fiocco, also known as Jessica Carlton, completed high school at a prestigious music and dance school studying classical trumpet and violin. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance at Monash University in 2015. In 2012, Carlton was featured in the Melbourne International Women’s Jazz Festival with renowned artist Allan Browne. In 2013, Carlton received the Jazz Prize award at Monash University for her composition, ‘Not Alone’. In 2014, Carlton recorded her debut album featuring six of her original compositions in Melbourne, Australia. She was then invited to perform with her band at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival. Later that year, she was nominated for ‘Young Australian Jazz Artist of the Year’ at the prestigious Australian Bell Awards. She then moved to the United States for two years where she taught at the New Jersey Performing Arts Centre and the New England Conservatory’s Jazz Lab. There, she studied her Masters of Social Work at Simmons College. She now resides in Western Australia, performing and teaching in Perth and Fremantle.
