Jamie Mykaela: DADDY
Tuesday 10 March 7.00pm
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – After a smash hit at Fringe World 2020 DADDY, Best Comedy and Best Cabaret 2018 Nominee Jamie Mykaela is putting on an exclusive encore of her break out, five star “Feminist cabaret masterpiece” (Gutter Culture).
“Hers is a voice that defies belief, rich and throaty and powerful.” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ – Gutter Culture
“Biting wit and brilliant music make this a must see show, the kind of show that the best of Fringe is made of.” ★★★★½ – Fringefeed
“Daddy is a triumph of Fringe” ★ ★ ★ ★ – Pelican Magazine
“Hits like an arrow to its target… A deeply uncomfortable and revelatory journey” – Bunbury Fringe
The innocent, the romantic, the ingenue, the nymphet, the groupie and the wh*re come together finally in a mess of no-holds-barred comedy, rock’n’roll, and scathing feminist ideologies. Perth’s cult favourite, comedy-cabaret riot grrrl is taking names from the pop music sphere in a post #metoo world and asking why we still sing along and why is it still happening?
Dust off your poetry books and thinly veiled misogyny, we’re getting pretentious and raging. For one night only The Ellington Jazz Club is being turned into a hotel room and Jamie Mykaela is going to get far too personal and very close to home.
