Evan Ayres and The Swing Kings: A Swinging Christmas

Monday 06 December 7.00pm

Perth’s hottest Swing band Evan Ayres and The Swing Kings are back at The Ellington! And this time they’re bringing some Christmas cheer.

Monday Dec 6, 7-10pm.

Performing Swing Jazz classics and originals (written by Evan), from Michael Bublé to Fred Astaire, a couple of rock n roll tunes, and even a little country, this is an event you do not want to miss. The night will feature all your favourite Christmas classics from White Christmas, all the way to Feliz Navidad. Plus some originals and a few classics, like Mack The Knife and Lying Eyes.

The all-star 4 piece, who met studying at WAAPA, was formed by Evan after he moved to Perth from Albany to study a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Vocals) in 2020. Prior to moving to Perth Evan had an eight piece Swing band in Albany, with which he recorded an EP of originals and sold out The Albany Port Theatre Six times (within two hours of tickets being on sale). Evan also recorded in May this year. A ten track album of originals, ‘Charm Of This Lady’, at Crank Recording Studio with the brand new eight piece Swing Kings.

Evan Ayres and The Swing Kings live at The Ellington will be featuring Lachie Glover on Tenor Sax.

“Amazing talent. This show could easily be in Vegas. The whole band is amazing. Very smooth. Great night out.”

“His crooning voice sets hearts of all ages aflutter, bringing back the nostalgia of first loves, lost loves and forever loves”
