DSUS Afro-Peruvian Group plays the classic album “Soul of Black Peru”

The DSUS Afro-Peruvian Group is a multi award-winning 7 piece ensemble which has gained international recognition for its unique original compositions influenced by Afro-Peruvian rhythms, and fresh, unique arrangements of traditional Peruvian folk songs. Founded in 2011, the ensemble continually pushes forward with innovative ways to express artistic sensibilities from the Afro-Peruvian and Jazz musical traditions – collaborating with world class musicians including Grammy award-winning trumpeter Brian Lynch (Art Blakey), percussion legends Alex Acuña (Weather Report) and Sammy Figueroa (Miles Davis), and Peruvian cajon icon Freddy “Huevito” Lobaton.
For this special occasion, the group will perform music exclusively from the album “Soul of Black Peru” – featuring classic Peruvian songs performed by music legends including Chabuca Granda, Nicomemedes Santa Cruz and Peru Negro.
