Duets have delighted contemporary music, though usually much better known for their song writing partnership exemplified by Lennon and McCartney. However, when two iconic vocal talents decide to join forces the result can be a totally synergistic combination. Perth is now gearing up for such a spectacle as the iconic Bindhu, and the musical ecstasy phenomenon that is Mary Emme, join forces at the Ellington Jazz Club with the new show, aptly named Diva Duets.
Bindhu will be instantly recognisable by her fans from Perth’s popular young band named “Alcatraz”. Bindhu will release her arsenal of natural talent with her very big and powerful voice, creating the sounds of legendary pop influencers ranging from Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion to Whitney Houston. However, on this occasion, Bindhu will be taking this to the next level by taking on the mantle of today’s popular young vocalists from Christina Aguilera to Beyonce. Mary Emme, fresh from the penetrating the 3 time sold out “Alicia Keys Tribute Show”, will create her usual musical shock wave. Moving from intricate and delicate singing styles like Norah Jones whilst flowing to trademark powerful show stopping sounds and topping that with a midway point that will tantalise with Jazz, R & B and an astonishing approach to Rap.
No show is complete without the finest of musicians performing the best of arrangements and Diva Duets is no exception. Valerio Fiorini plays his guitar with solid respect for the instrument, Joseph Mullaney on keys plays all chord formations and solos with consummate ease, Dario Jiritano performs on his bass with an ever graceful air and drummer Pete Evans lays down a solid rhythmic foundation for each and every song. This sheer wealth of talent will take the listener literally to the musical stratosphere so be a part of this defining moment in the Perth live music scene by being at The Ellington Jazz Club on Thursday the 5th of October.
