Dave Brewer and Lucky Oceans Band

Thursday 15 October 7.00pm

Dave Brewer and Lucky Oceans Band – Dave and Lucky reunite for a rare appearance together of their fiery approach to their own jazz and blues songs and tunes, with Alastair Peel on double bass and Greg Brenton on drums.  This one always raises the roof so you don’t want to miss it!
Dave is one of Australia’s greatest blues guitarists and a favourite at the Ellington via his frequent appearances with Natalie Gillespie. While living in Sydney for decades he was the guitarist for the Catholics and is still a member of the Mighty Reapers.  Lucky is a Grammy Award winning pedal steel guitarist who has been based in Fremantle since 1981, whose national radio show ‘The Daily Planet’ was a beloved part of Australia’s culture.  He maintains an active career in both Australia and USA and his latest album, ‘Purple Sky,’ with Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers and others has just been released.   On tonight’s show, Dave and Lucky are joined by Alastair Peel on double bass and Gregory Brenton on drums.
