Daniel Susnjar presents “Dorado - Beats | Grooves | Creativity”

Thursday 25 August 7.00pm

Following their highly successful Ellington Jazz Club debut show in April, Dorado returns to deliver a fresh sound which oozes groove, creativity and fun. Formed by multi award-winning drummer/composer Daniel Susnjar, Dorado brings together Australia’s finest young talent to perform traditional songs from their individual family heritages (Italian, Croatian, El Salvadorian, Chinese and United Kingdom), along with fresh arrangements of Peruvian classics and hot-off-the-press originals.

Featuring up-and-coming monster improvisors Jayden Blockley (saxophone), Will Pethick (trombone), Mike Ellis (guitar) and Tommi Flamenco (bass), this is a show that is not to be missed.

Media quotes:

“Susnjar radiated a joyful energy that infected not just his fellow band members but the entire auditorium, and sent us out into the still-damp night air with smiles on our faces and a syncopated spring in our step” – Sydney Morning Herald

“Will reignite any Jazz listener’s love affair with that most important and irresistible element of the art form – rhythm” – John Hardaker

“Filled with energy, exemplary musicianship and toe-tapping beats” Roger Mitchell –
