Cassis

Wednesday 01 July 7.00pm

Cassis is a music duo consisting of Véronique Ramén (vocals) and Jon Edwards (guitar) performing French songs by poet and singer-songwriter Georges Brassens spaning over 30 years from the 50’s to the 80’s.

Although Georges Brassens is not widely known outside of France, he is considered the most important French post war poet and a treasured performer. His lyrics are as beautiful and complex as his melodies and his story telling is unique and rich in colour. He is at the root of modern French folkore, with soul and true originality.

Cassis takes the songs of Georges Brassens and plays them in their own unique way, influenced by their feelings. They also perform poetic songs from other French and English speaking Artists, as well as their own compositions.
