Jamie Oehlers’ all-star band, Blowfish, performs the blues soaked music of jazz’s notorious and iconic bassist Charles Mingus. Mingus said “My music is evidence of my soul’s will to live” and you can hear it in every note he composed. This music is rowdy and unedited – it’s music by the people, for the people, so come and get hit in your soul. Expect to hear songs like Boogie Stop Shuffle, Moanin’ and of course, the song with the best title ever – The Shoes of the Fisherman’s Wife are Some Jive Ass Slippers!
