Australia to Austria – Amelia Jutilane’s Farewell Show

Tuesday 29 August 7.00pm

Following her completion of studies at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, composer and percussionist Amelia Jane Jutilane is leaving Perth to undertake a Master’s of Jazz Composition after her acceptance to the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. Joining her is a line up of talented local musicians who she has had the pleasure of working with since moving to Perth in 2013. Along with her band, Amelia will present her original jazz compositions and perform on percussion and vocals, but primarily play her favourite instrument, the vibraphone, which is rarely performed in the Perth scene. In the second set Amelia will invite to the stage some of Perth’s most prominent and gifted vocalists to sing her original songs, in a variety of styles. Amelia’s music has a wide range of influences from film scores and big band music to pop and percussion. Join Amelia in celebrating the last five years at her final gig in Perth to farewell her before she leaves for Europe!
