Anea Duratovic (London)
Monday 04 April 7.00pm
Based in London but a Perth local, Anea Duratovic is one of Australia’s most outstanding young jazz vocalists. She combines a love of the jazz standard repertoire, with a flair for composition, to bring unique and exciting sounds and stories to the stage.
Originally from Australia, Anea honed her craft through study at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where she completed a Bachelor of Jazz (Honours), as well as through extended engagements with the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO). She has established herself as in demand vocalist throughout the local scene, performing with artists such as James Morrison, Kristin Berardi, and the Mace Francis Orchestra.
In 2014 Anea toured with her band The Anea Duratovic Quintet to Melbourne for a series of shows, showcasing her own compositions, and has also performed in the USA, Indonesia, Croatia, Germany and the UK.
For the last year, Anea has been travelling throughout Europe, particularly through Germany and the United Kingdom, and is now based in London. She brings with her tonight, a selection of songs inspired by her time away, and her new life overseas.
Anea will be joined tonight by:
Sax: Patrick van der Moezel
Piano: Chris Foster
Bass: Karl Florisson
Drums: Michael Perkins
