Anea Duratovic Quintet: A Celebration of the Modern Day Jazz Vocalist

Wednesday 30 May 7.00pm

Tonight is a celebration of our modern day jazz vocalists. They are trailblazing their way through the jazz world with their intricate and spell-bounding compositions. Musicians such as Esperanza Spalding, Gretchen Parlato, Gian Slater and Kristin Berardi just to name a few. They inspire musicians all around the world with their presence and unique abilities when performing.

Tonight will be a celebration of their own compositions, as well as their arrangements of the classic jazz standard. It’s going to be a night full of contemporary jazz and not to be missed!

Perth local Anea Duratovic honed her craft through study at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where she completed a Bachelor of Jazz (Honours), as well as through extended engagements with the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO). She has established herself as an in-demand vocalist throughout the Australian scene, performing with artists such as James Morrison, Kristin Berardi, Gian Slater and the Mace Francis Orchestra.

In 2014, Anea toured with her band The Anea Duratovic Quintet to Melbourne for a series of shows, showcasing her own compositions, and has also performed in the USA, Indonesia, Croatia, Germany and the UK.

For the last two and a half years, Anea has been traveling/working throughout Europe, particularly through Germany and the United Kingdom, and after living for two years in London, she’s back in her home city of Perth for the year.

Be sure not to miss out on what is going to be an amazing night of music!
