An Evening of Gershwin Classics with Mia Simonette & The Danny Moss Jnr Trio

Thursday 21 November 7.00pm

The fabulous, prolific songwriting team of George and Ira Gershwin arguably created the backbone of American popular music. They created too many classics to list! A mere few examples include: I Got Rhythm, Summertime, Someone To Watch Over Me, Lady Be Good, Love Walked In, A Foggy Day, Love Is Here To Stay, Fascinating Rhythm, But Not For Me, Embraceable You and I’ve Got a Crush on You.

Mia Simonette delivers the great jazz songs with style, class, phrasing, and dynamism way beyond her 21 years. This dynamism shines through in her swinging ‘on stage’ presence and her programme includes a repertoire full of snap, swing, and a few soulful ballads for good measure.

The trio features two remarkable young talents who are destined for great things in the music business.

Adrian Galante is a great natural showman and simply a tremendous rare talent on both piano and clarinet. He plays both instruments with a depth of jazz knowledge and feeling that very few attain.

Bronton Ainsworth is highly talented and a very experienced percussionist. His professionalism is second to none and his touch, sound, time, and feel at the drums adds class to every group he plays in.

Danny Moss Jnr’s bass playing is highly regarded by his peers on the International scene. The Danny Moss Jnr Quartet in Europe is now well established on the Festival Circuit and regularly plays at Ronnie Scott’s famous Jazz Club in Soho, London. Its reputation has been built on its ‘swing at all costs’ performances.
