Across The Tracks Band: Blues and Gospel

Thursday 14 September 7.00pm

Paul Gioia’s Across The Tracks Band turns the torch on early blues and gospel icons who crossed the tracks between the club on Saturday and church on Sunday. From Son House and Blind Willie Johnson to Mavis Staples, Aretha Franklin and Mahalia Jackson, and composers like Thomas A. Dorsey who almost singlehandedly created the black gospel movement. Across The Tracks has played to sell-out crowds, so make sure you catch this gig. The band features the fabulous Victoria Newton and Rose Parker on vocals, the award-winning Andrew Winton on guitar, powerhouse rhythm section Greg Brenton and Joe Southwell and, of course, Paul on vocals, piano and organ.
