A Little Bit Lost: Tim Parish

Tuesday 28 June 7.00pm

Lost inhibitions, lost loves, lost in translation…. Get lost in the music with Tim Parish, Nick Abbey, Chris Foster and Michael Perkins and discover how being lost can lead you to unexpected joy. In this brand-new show, dimly lit rooms call you to lose yourself in the ballads of Chet Baker, bright fields beckon you to lose your cares and follow blithe melodies. Tunes familiar and tunes lost combine with some new compositions by Tim Parish to give you an unexpected and intriguing perspective on finding yourself through music.

With scores orchestrated by Libby Hammer and made magic by the brilliant Chris Foster on Piano, Nick Abbey on Bass and Michael Perkins on Drums, with Tim Parish on vocals, each song has been chosen to intrigue, delight, challenge and excite you, leading where you may not have expected to go.

Tim Parish has established an eager following for his rich, lush vocals, wide range and variety of musical performances. In recent years he has sung at the Ellington in solo performances and in collaboration with Libby Hammer in the sold out shows “Fella Sings Ella”, “Shall We France?” and “Ultra Lounge A-Go-Go” where Ali Bodycoat also helped create a delightful homage to the jazz music of the 1950s. Tim’s unique and distinct style was developed over years of training and a devotion to traditional Jazz for which he developed a passion from childhood while listening to the music spinning from the records of the great jazz performers as well as the more obscure “lost” stars of the 30s and 40s. With an innate feel for the jazz mode, be it the lightest of tunes or the most sombre of ballads, Tim Parish gives each song a personal touch that keep audiences coming back for more.
